Catch Up!

I cannot believe how long it has been since I've written any updates. My excuse is, I lost the little thingy that gets the photos from my digital camera to my computer. We had a fun and busy summer. Ben worked really hard the whole time. I went back to work for most of the summer for Judge Silkworth. Clerking again was great. Alyssia came with me to work a few times and she just loves Chambers.

Nana and Popo came to visit us at the end of July and I stopped working a week later. We had a great time with them while they were here. For Alyssia's birthday, we went to New York to see Mary Poppins and we loved it! Alyssia sat through the whole show and was enraptured. Later, we all went to Philidelphia to Sesame Place to see Elmo. Ben was able to take two days off, which was great! Alyssia loves Elmo and Sesame Place was a perfect little getaway for the whole family. Her favorite ride was the merry-g0-round and she rode it countless times in a row. At the end of Nana and Popo's visit, Alyssia and I rode with them back to Chicago for a two-week stay. Ben, of course, had to stay home and work. Somebody has to pay the bills. We stopped at a wonderful park for children in Pittsburgh, called Idlewilde. Alyssia drove cars and boats and flew airplanes to her heart's content.

I had all kinds of great pictures of these events, but for some reason, I can't find them on my computer!!! OH NO!!

While in Chicago, we got to spend a lot of time with Auntie Megan and Veronica. The girls had so much fun together. One day, we drove to New Buffalo, Michigan to spend the day at the lake, which was rough that day. The water felt cool and refreshing, the beach lay empty except for seagulls, and the wind blew gently through the reeds on the dunes. The girls enjoyed the day so much and the mommies did too. I especially enjoyed the delicious Chicago hot dog. These poor folks on the East Coast have no idea what a real hot dog tastes like. They also have no idea what good pizza tastes like, but that's another story.

In the fall, Alyssia and I went with Gramma Norma and Aunt Ann to West Virginia. It was lovely, as usual. In fact, I can't remember a prettier fall. The trees were just brilliant.

Later, Auntie Deirdre and Roma and Nana came
to visit so we could all drive to North Carolina for a family wedding. We had such a good time. Roma and Alyssia were the best dancers there.

Roma and Alyssia enjoyed playing princess and watching favorite movies together. They had a few struggles with sharing, but overall, they were great.
